Senza contare gli errori che sussistono a prescindere, come "Friulio" Venezia Giulia.

Re: Romano Prodi: “Thatcher and Reagan are the fathers of the global crisis”

This guy is definitely an idiot. Where is "minimum state intervention in the economy" ? Public Spendings in Europe are at their highest. In France Solely public Spending account for 56% of GDP. The crisis is due to public manipulation of the Money. The Euro is a major avatar of statism where a money was created from scrap grounded on the sole will of state employed to create an instrument of domination which has caused the situation. The US dollar and US crisis is principally due to the Bush- administration's manipulation of their currency. It was a public decision to maintain interest rate to historically low levels, with no respect with market value, and therefore create masses of money artificially to boost the ecenomy. it was a political decision to drain such created capital to housing sector to provide every americain with a house, regardless of their ressources.

This guy if to throw down the toilets of history, an idiot among many who have artificially created a system who made them rich, blaming others for their own mistake, destroying the fundamentals of democracy and now looking for ways to steal the people to maintain their benefits.

Re: European Youth: a Lost Generation (Graph)

I'm sorry Chiara. We do not have tools and data to create such a graph.

OT: thank you! ;)

Re: European Youth: a Lost Generation (Graph)

I would like to see a graph where employment is plotted against characteristics of the education system and the mentality towards employment of young people, independently of the economic growth. Italy's education system lies somewhere in between the German/Swiss one, where technical/vocational education is highly valued and there is a rather harsh selection on which kids get into Gymnasium (liceo) and which not, and the US one, in which a college degree is considered "staple" but many students drop out and/or end up getting a job below their skill level. Comparing the structure and exams rules/methods in university between Italy and Germany, in the first it is way easier to get a degree (in Germany you are not allowed to fail an exam more than twice or you're kicked out, let alone refuse grades), while, for instance, in the second, the rather long (forced) vacation periods allow to take internships and career-relevant student jobs are common. As far as I could see myself, the typical German business student has at least 3 or 4 internships and some student jobs on their CV at the moment of graduation, while the typical Italian one has no internship or maybe one, both due to lack of time availability and of opportunities for undergraduates.

OT: love your blog!
